Surround SCM Unix Default Directories, Commands, and Configuration Files

Following are the default directories, commands, and configuration files for Surround SCM applications running on Mac OS X and Linux.

Surround SCM Client

Linux

  • Application directory - /var/lib/SurroundSCM
  • To start - /usr/bin/scmgui

Mac OS X

  • Application directory - /Applications/Surround SCM
  • To start - Double-click icon in Applications/Surround SCM

CLI

  • Application directory - /usr/bin
  • To start - sscm

Surround SCM Server

  • Server port - 4900
  • Startup log - /var/log/SCMStartup.log

Linux

  • Application directory - /var/lib/SurroundSCM
  • To start - /usr/bin/surroundscm start
  • To stop - /usr/bin/surroundscm stop

Mac OS X

  • Application directory - /Applications/Surround SCM
  • To start - Use System Preferences
  • To stop - Use System Preferences

PostgreSQL Server

  • Application directory - /usr/local/pgsql
  • To start - /usr/bin/sppostgres start
  • To stop - /usr/bin/sppostgres stop

Web Server

  • HTTP port - 8090
  • HTTPS port - 8443

Linux

  • Application directory - /var/lib/SurroundSCM/sscmweb
  • To start - /usr/bin/surroundscmweb start
  • To stop - /usr/bin/surroundscmweb stop

Mac OS X

  • Application directory - /Applications/Surround SCM/sscmweb
  • To start - /usr/bin/surroundscmweb start
  • To stop - /usr/bin/surroundscmweb stop

Proxy Server

  • Server port - 4901
  • Startup log - /var/log/SCMProxyStartup.log

Linux

  • Application directory - /var/lib/SurroundSCM
  • To start - /usr/bin/surroundscmproxy start
  • To stop - /usr/bin/surroundscmproxy stop

Mac OS X

  • Application directory - /Applications/Surround SCM
  • To start - Use System Preferences
  • To stop - Use System Preferences

WebDAV CGI

CGI URL - http://localhost/cgi-bin/sscmdav.cgi

Linux

  • CGI directory - /var/www/cgi-bin

Mac OS X

Analyze Utility

Linux

  • Application directory - /var/lib/SurroundSCM
  • To start - /var/lib/SurroundSCM/sscmanalyzeutil

Mac OS X

  • To start - Double-click icon in Applications/Surround SCM

CMIS Server

Linux

CMIS Admin Utility

Linux

  • To start - Double-click icon in Applications/Surround SCM/CMIS

Registry Utility

Linux

  • Application directory - /var/lib/SurroundSCM
  • To start - /var/lib/SurroundSCM/scmregistryutil

Mac OS X

  • Application directory - /Applications/Surround SCM
  • To start - Double-click icon in Applications/Surround SCM

Integration library

  • 32-bit Linux - /usr/lib/seapine/scm
    Libraries are also installed in the 32-bit library directory for the distribution (e.g., /usr/lib, /usr/lib32, or /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu). 
  • 64-bit Linux - /usr/lib/seapine/scm64
    Libraries are also installed in the 64-bit library directory for the distribution (e.g., /usr/lib, /usr/lib64, or /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu). 
  • Mac OS X - /Library/Application Support/Seapine/SurroundSCMSCCI.framework

Configuration files

  • spscm.conf - Used by the Surround SCM Server. Contains information such as the server port number. Located in /etc.
  • spscmclient.conf - Used by the Surround SCM Client and the integration library. Contains information such as the configured server connections. Located in /etc and the user's home directory.
  • spscmdialogs.conf - Used by the Surround SCM Client. Contains information such as the size and configuration of windows and columns. Located in the user's home directory.
  • spscmproxy.conf - Used by the Surround SCM proxy server. Contains information such as the master server address and port number and proxy cache directory path. Located in /etc.
