Opening Multiple Helix ALM Instances on Mac OS X

Article ID: 409  |  Last updated: 27 Apr, 2017

Problem

You cannot open multiple instances of the Helix ALM Client on Mac OS X even if the 'Allow multiple instances of this application' option is selected in Local Options.

Cause

Mac OS X Finder does not allow multiple instances of an application.

Solution

Duplicate the Helix ALM Client.app file and use this copy to start another instance.

For example, if you need to use three instances of the client, you must duplicate the Helix ALM Client.app file twice and start the additional instances using those copies.
