Jumpstart Your Understanding of Agile

Free e-learning series for development and QA teams explores a practical path to Agile

Cincinnati, OH – June 1, 2010 – Overwhelmed software developers stand to benefit most from Agile development methods, yet often don’t have time to explore or keep up with them. That’s about to change, thanks to the Seapine Agile Expedition, a free web-based learning series sponsored by Seapine Software that kicks off on June 2.

At a relaxed bi-weekly pace, the Seapine Agile Expedition will cover tips, tricks, and traps for software developers, quality assurance (QA) teams, product owners, and stakeholders, regardless of their level of experience with Agile practices.

“One of the principles of Agile is to keep learning,” says Paula Rome, senior TestTrack product manager, Seapine Software. “Unfortunately, workload demands often prevent developers from staying current, or for those new to Agile to get going with it.”

The Seapine Agile Expedition will cover an entire release cycle, from starting a backlog and running the first sprint all the way through releasing the product. Rome presents the debut webinar of the series, and will use Seapine’s TestTrack 2010.1 to demonstrate how to incorporate Agile methods and avoid pitfalls.

Those new to Agile development will discover how Agile can boost the productivity of developers, QA testers, product owners—and ultimately, increase the value of what is delivered to customers.

For those already using Agile, the Expedition explores how to enhance daily stand-ups, analyze and learn from past sprints, and integrate quality assurance and testing into the development process.

Expeditioneers will also learn how to organize and prioritize backlogs, get metrics that matter, and scale Agile across the enterprise.

“We’re excited to engage with the Agile community to share the best practices we’ve gained from working with our customers,” Rome says. “For a team looking to get more Agile, this is a great series to move them forward without jeopardizing existing deadlines.”

The Seapine Agile Expedition will be delivered in 13 bi-weekly installments, and is free to anyone interested in learning more about Agile development. To join the Seapine Agile Expedition, visit www.seapine.com/exploreagile.
