To upgrade Surround SCM, view the release notes to find out what's new in this release then download the corresponding upgrade installer. The upgrade is free if you have a current support subscription.

Client/Server installers contain all Surround SCM components, including the Surround SCM Server, Seapine License Server, Proxy Server, Registry Utility, and the GUI and CLI clients.

Note: You must have a Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) installed to use Surround SCM's 3-way merge tool. For operating systems that do not ship with one we have included installers with a JRE.

Client installers simplify installation on computers that only require client access to Surround SCM.

Surround SCM server-only installers simplify installation on servers and do not contain client files. 64-bit versions, which support the largest file repositories, are available for some operating systems.

Before upgrading from Surround SCM 2008.1.x to Surround SCM 2009.x or 2010, it is strongly recommended that you run the latest Surround SCM 2008.1.x Analyze Utility to address any database issues. This analyze utility only works with Surround SCM 2008.1.x databases, so do not use it with earlier versions of Surround SCM.
