2.0 Release Notes

QA Wizard links directly to Surround SCM and Visual SourceSafe, letting you use your source control system to manage test scripts (in a multi-tester group or individually.) QA Wizard now supports standard SCM functions such as check in, check out, get prior version, and more.
- Faster user mode playback. The new, faster playback engine lets you play more scripts in a shorter amount of time.
- Multi-script execution. To increase the speed of testing, multiple scripts can run simultaneously, resulting in significantly reduced script execution time.
- Silent mode playback. Provides faster script playback if the interactive user mode is not required. Running silent mode scripts is useful if you need to execute more scripts in less time and don’t require QA Wizard to receive the input focus while you are working in another window or application.
- Improved script file format. Scripts load much quicker and use much less disk space than in previous QA Wizard versions.
- Support for the Unicode character set standard. Incorporating the Unicode standard allows QA Wizard to support different languages including multi-bit characters that are found in Japanese, Chinese, and many others languages.
- Multiple browser and multiple frame ID support. Provides more accurate playback when using multiple browser windows or multiple frames in your e-business applications. Support for frameless popup windows is also included.
- Intellaview(tm) attribute window. With Intellaview you can select, add, remove and modify all of your script object binding attributes (e.g., match case, regular expression, exclude, variable data, etc.) from one window.
- Sub-coordinate mapping for objects. By using the mouse coordinates, you can perform tasks on previously unsupported objects. Sub-coordinates are object-relative, mapping inside an object (e.g., a table cell), instead of the page's coordinates. Sub-coordinate mapping also lets you modify the page layout without affecting your test scripts.
- Quick link to project variables. Link directly to the project variable value from the Project Explorer window for quick value changes.
- Enhanced object capture. You no longer have to wait for the Web page to finish loading to start capturing objects, which provides a more natural capture process.

- Enhanced workgroup structure. Scripts can be moved between projects and workgroups while still maintaining their integrity.
- New reporting system. The new look and feel of reports makes it easier to view large amounts of information.
- Report recovery system. In the event of a system shutdown during playback, the reports for the script that have already been executed are still available.

- QA Wizard now directly integrates with TestTrack Pro server.
- When your script finds errors, you can automatically send all the defect information to a TestTrack Pro database or you can customize the bug report content and send only the information you need.

- You can undo or redo the last action or sequence of actions by selecting an item in the Undo or Redo list.
