MDAC Corruption Causes QA Wizard Pro to Crash

QA Wizard Pro crashes or returns errors when you open the sample workspace or work with and database environments.


MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) is corrupt.


Uninstall and reinstall MDAC.

  1. To uninstall MDAC, run the Dasetup.exe file, which is already installed, with the following command line: dasetup.exe /u

    Dasetup.exe is the setup engine used for MDAC 2.5 and MDAC 2.6. Dasetup.exe is located by default in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Dasetup
  2. To reinstall MDAC, download MDAC from with the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 web site and follow the installation instructions. You can also install older versions of MDAC.
