Scripts Fail in Internet Explorer 7

Article ID: 773  |  Last updated: 23 Dec, 2014

QA Wizard Pro web scripts that run in Internet Explorer 7 fail if the Internet Explorer menus are enabled or third-party toolbars, such as Yahoo or Google, are installed.

When a script opens a web page, QA Wizard Pro captures the position of controls so they can be located. Internet Explorer menus and third-party toolbars load after the web page, which causes the page position to shift down. The controls are no longer in the captured location and cannot be located when the script runs.

Add the Set Playback Delay statement after the Run Application step in the script. This pauses the script immediately after the browser opens so the menus and toolbars have enough time to load.

  1. Select the Run Application step in the script.
  2. Choose Script > Add Statement.
  3. Select the Set Playback Delay statement in the Script Control category.
  4. Enter the number of milliseconds to delay the script before it continues.
  5. Click OK to add the statement to the script.
