Article ID: 693  |  Last updated: 23 Dec, 2014

Changing or converting a PostgreSQL database to a SQL Server database from a Surround SCM Server on Windows 2000 fails. An error similar to the following is written to the Surround SCM startup log:

'10/09/08 17:11:14 CSCMServerRDBMS::AddDbRepository failed because [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Optional feature not implemented QODBC3: Unable to bind variable DbDir=server database'

The required ODBC/SQL Server drivers are not installed.

Download the SQL Server Native Client from Microsoft and install it on the Surround SCM Server computer to install the drivers.
