Changing the Surround SCM Server to a Service

Article ID: 617  |  Last updated: 30 Apr, 2015

On Windows, we recommend installing the Surround SCM Server as a service. A service is a program that automatically starts when the system starts and automatically stops when the system is shut down.

To change the Surround SCM Server to a service:

  1. Choose Start > Run to open the Run command window.
  2. Enter "C:\Program Files\Seapine\Surround SCM\Surround SCM Server.exe" -install in the Run command window. This example shows the default install path. If you installed in a different directory, enter that information.
  3. Enter "C:\Program Files\Seapine\Surround SCM\Surround SCM Server.exe" -remove to uninstall as a service.
