Administering Users in Surround SCM

Users and passwords are stored on the Seapine License Server. This lets you create users in a central location and then import them to Surround SCM. Administration is easier because users must only remember one username and password.

By default, the license server administrator is the only user who can administer other users. You can use the Seapine License Server Admin Utility to give administrative permissions to other users (such as the old 'admin' user).

  1. Start the Seapine License Server Admin Utility and log in as the administrator.
  2. Click Global Users, select the user you want to grant permission to, and click Edit.
  3. Click the Security tab and select an option to allow the user to work with users.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

The user can now change passwords from Surround SCM and retrieve global users from the license server.
