Identifying Test Case and Test Run Attachment Types in the TestTrack SDK

Article ID: 594  |  Last updated: 30 Dec, 2014

The CFileAttachment class has a m-strType parameter that identifies file attachment types for test cases and test runs.

When adding or editing a test case attachment using the TestTrack SDK, the m-strType value is automatically set to ‘Standard’. You can set the value to ‘Script’ to indicate that it is a script. In the TestTrack Client, scripts are displayed on the Scripts tab and copied to test runs when they are generated.

When adding test run attachments, the attachment type is automatically set to ‘Run result’. When you edit a test run attachment, the attachment type is read-only.

Note: You do not need to specify m-strType for other TestTrack item types, such as defects, requirements, and workflow events. The m-strType value is automatically set to ‘Standard’.
