Using Server Parameters in SoloSubmit

Article ID: 585  |  Last updated: 30 Dec, 2014

Note: This information only applies to TestTrack Pro 2008.2 and later.

If your web server is configured to allow access to multiple TestTrack Servers from a single CGI, you can specify the server to connect to in SoloSubmit URLs. If you do not specify a server, the URL connects to the default TestTrack Server configured on the web server.

SERVERADDR and SERVERPORT parameters

Add the SERVERADDR and SERVERPORT parameters to connect to a specific TestTrack Server computer based on the IP address.

For example, the following URL connects to a TestTrack Server hosted on the computer with 123.456.789.101 as the IP address on port 1566:

http://localhost/cgi-bin/ttcgi.exe?command=SoloSubmitScreen&serveraddr=123.456.789.101&serverport=1566

The SERVERADDR and SERVERPORT parameters must both be specified. An error is returned if a value is missing.

SERVERNAME parameter

Add the SERVERNAME parameter to connect to a specific TestTrack Server computer based on the server name configured on the web server. The name is configured using the TestTrack Registry Utility.

For example, the following URL connects to the 'Development' TestTrack Server:

http://localhost/cgi-bin/ttcgi.exe?command=SoloSubmitScreen&servername=Development

DATABASEID parameter

Add the DATABASEID parameter to the URL if you know the ID for specific project to connect to. To find project IDs, click Projects in the TestTrack Server Admin Utility. IDs are displayed in the first column. If you do not include a project ID in the URL, the project selection dialog box is displayed when you connect to the server.

For example, the following URL connects to the project with an ID value of 10 on the ‘Development’ TestTrack Server.

http://localhost/cgi-bin/ttcgi.exe?command=SoloSubmitScreen&servername=Development&databaseid=10
