Differences Between the Helix ALM Client and Helix ALM Web

Note: The following information only applies to Helix ALM (and TestTrack 2014.0 - 2016.1).

The following features that are available in the Helix ALM Client are not yet available in current version of Helix ALM Web. Use the Helix ALM Client to perform any of the following actions.

  • All functionality under the Tools > Administration menu in the Helix ALM Client, such as configuring workflows, project options, fields, automation rules, and more.
  • Configuring list values
  • Adding, editing, viewing details, and deleting reports
  • Viewing live charts
  • Managing security groups
  • Importing and exporting data (XML and text)
  • Assigning and reassigning item numbers
  • Changing field values in bulk
  • Building release notes
  • Analyzing traceability
  • Diagramming links
  • Opening list windows in Microsoft Excel
  • Capturing screenshots
  • Configuring user and local options
  • Configuring user notification rules
  • Using the Workbook and tasks
  • Managing test configs
  • Integrating with automated testing tools (launching scripts, working with script agents)
  • Integrating with source control (SCC) providers. Can only view attached source control files in Helix ALM Web.
