Cannot Open ttstudio Links from Chrome

Article ID: 503  |  Last updated: 06 Jun, 2017

Problem

When clicking a ttstudio hyperlink in Google Chrome, the Helix ALM Client does not open and Chrome may return the following message:

'Your search did not match any documents.'

Cause

Chrome does not recognize the ttstudio protocol used to open the client.

Solution

Configure Chrome to use the Helix ALM URL Redirector, which provides access to ttstudio hyperlinks.

  1. Create a new file in a text editor, such as Notepad.
  2. Copy the following code to the file:
    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body>
    <a href="ttstudio://config">TT Studio</a>
    </body>
    </html>
  3. Save the file as ttstudio.html.
  4. Open the ttstudio.html file in Chrome.
  5. Click the ttstudio link. The External Protocol Request dialog box opens.
  6. Select Remember my choice for all links of this type and click Launch Application. The Helix ALM URL Redirector dialog box opens.
  7. Select Use the Helix ALM Client and click OK.
  8. Click a ttstudio link in Chrome to start the client.
