Article ID: 333  |  Last updated: 29 Dec, 2014

TestTrack web client users are prompted to download the TestTrack CGI program (ttcgi.exe) if the web server's CGI alias is not configured to execute scripts. The directory where ttcgi.exe resides needs to be modified to allow the execution of CGI scripts.

IIS

  1. Open the IIS Management Console.
  2. Browse to your CGI alias. This alias is generally named scripts.
  3. Right-click on the CGI alias and select Properties.
  4. Locate and select the Execute (including scripts) option.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
  6. Restart IIS.

Apache

Following is a snapshot of Apache settings:

ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/cgi-bin/"

AllowOverride None
Options ExecCGI
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

AddHandler cgi-script .cgi .exe

Make sure you set the ExecCGI option. This option tells the alias to run scripts.

Note: On Unix platforms, CGI scripts require at least 755 permissions to run.
