Displaying Additional Custom Fields on the TestTrack Add/Edit Defect Windows

Article ID: 319  |  Last updated: 05 Jan, 2015

Note: This article applies to TestTrack Pro Web 5.x and earlier.

If you are using TestTrack Pro Web, you can display more than two custom fields on the Add Defect and Edit Defect windows. This solutions requires that you edit two HTML files. Make backup copies of the original files before any changes are made to the original files.

  1. Locate the ttweb directory. This directory contains all of the TestTrack Pro HTML files.
  2. Open customfieldsview.snip.
  3. Select and cut all code in this file. Resave the now-empty file with the same file name.
  4. Open ttweb_editdefect.html and search for the following code:
    <tr>
       <td COLSPAN="1" ALIGN="RIGHT">%MCFP01_L%</td><td COLSPAN="3">%MCFP01%  </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
       <td COLSPAN="1" ALIGN="RIGHT">%MCFP02_L%</td><td COLSPAN="3">%MCFP02%</td>
    </tr>
  5. Replace the code with this code from customfieldsview.snip.
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP01_L%</td>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP01%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP02_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP02%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP03_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP03%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP04_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP04%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP05_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP05%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP06_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP06%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP07_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP07%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP08_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP08%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP09_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP09%</td></TR>
    <TR>
       <td CLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="22%" ALIGN="RIGHT"> %CFP10_L%</td>
       <tdCLASS="bodytext" WIDTH="70%">%CFP10%</td></TR>
  6. Save ttweb_editdefect.html.

All custom fields are now displayed on the Add Defect and Edit Defect windows.

Note: The Custom Fields tab is still displayed. If a user clicks the Custom Fields tab, the page opens but no fields are displayed.
