Cannot Restart a Seapine Server on Linux

Article ID: 292  |  Last updated: 23 Dec, 2014

Problem

After stopping the Seapine License Server, Surround SCM Server, Surround SCM Proxy Server, or TestTrack Server on some Linux distributions, you cannot restart the server.

Cause

The semaphore used to store the Seapine product ID process was not removed when the server stopped, which prevented the server from restarting.

Solution

Use the following commands to remove the semaphore for the server you stopped and then restart the server.

  • Seapine License Server—$ ipcrm -S 0x07541653
  • Surround SCM Server—$ ipcrm -S 0x07541654
  • Surround SCM Proxy Server—$ ipcrm -S 0x07541652
  • TestTrack Server—$ ipcrm -S 0x07541655
