Text Fields Cannot Be Edited on Linux

Article ID: 267  |  Last updated: 01 May, 2015

Text fields become randomly disabled when using Surround SCM or the Seapine License Server Admin Utility on Linux.

When SuSE 9.3's SKIM program is loaded, it interacts negatively with Seapine products. SKIM (SCIM for KDE) is an input method framework for Unicode and international character support optimized for KDE.

Do not use the SKIM program on SuSE 9.3. SKIM can be stopped either through the KDE menu or by terminating the process directly. The SCIM (Smart Common Input Method) framework can be used as an alternative.
