There are known problems with Sun JRE and JVM v. 1.6 causing Surround SCM to crash on Linux distributions. If you encounter any problems with Sun Java 1.6 and Surround SCM, we recommend you make one of the following changes and restart the Surround SCM Client:

• Change the RunGuiffyAsSeparateProcess value to ‘true’ in the spscmclient.conf file. The configuration file is located at ~/.seapine/spscmclient.conf.
  
  
• Install Sun JRE 1.5.
