Starting with the release of Surround SCM 2009, all data is stored in an RDBMS databse. The old, proprietary database format is no longer supported.

It is not uncommon for upgrades to take several hours, depending on the size of your existing installation. If you are upgrading from Surround SCM 2008.1.x to Surround SCM 2009.x, it is strongly recommended that you run the latest Surround SCM 2008.1.x Analyze Utility to address any database issues before the upgrade starts.
