Cannot Connect to the Seapine License Server After Upgrading
Last Updated
8th of April, 2009

If you upgrade only TestTrack (Pro, RM, or TCM), or Surround SCM, the correct version of the Seapine License Server will be installed automatically. However, if you upgrade more than one product, an older version of the Seapine License Server could possibly be installed, overwriting the latest version needed for some products to run properly.

Before upgrading more than one Seapine product

Check the release date listed under each product on Seapine’s Product Upgrade page. You always want to upgrade the product with the most recent release date last. This will guarantee that you install the latest version of Seapine License Server.

For example, you need to upgrade TestTrack Pro and Surround SCM. According to Seapine’s Product Upgrade page, the latest version of TestTrack Pro was released on October 23, 2008 and the latest version of Surround SCM was released on August 11, 2008. Upgrading TestTrack Pro after Surround SCM will ensure the latest version of the Seapine License Server is installed.

Note: The Seapine License Server is backward compatible. All supported product versions will be able to connect to the latest version of the license server. See the Seapine License Server Compatibility article.

After upgrading more than one Seapine product

If you have already upgraded more than one Seapine product and cannot connect to the license server, run the TestTrack or Surround SCM installer with the most recent release date but only install the license server. After reinstalling the license server, all products will be able to connect to it.
