Automatically Logging Into TestTrack Pro Web
Last Updated
5th of October, 2010

Note: The following information only applies to TestTrack 2013.0.2 and earlier.

You can automatically log in to TestTrack Pro Web by specifying the project, username and password, and start page in the URL. You can then bypass the login process by bookmarking the URL for future use.

Note: TestTrack 2008 and later supports ttstudio and http hyperlinks. You can provide a hyperlink to specific item in an email or another type of document so users can open it directly in TestTrack. See Using TestTrack Addresses.

Following is an example of a URL used to automatically log in:

http://server.wysicorp.com/scripts/ttcgi.exe?command=login&project=Sample%20Project&uname=george&pword=washington&table=dfct

  • http://server.wysicorp.com/scripts/ttcgi.exe is the CGI location.
  • project=Sample%Project specifies that you are logging into a project named Sample Project.
  • uname=george specifies your username, which is george in this example.
  • pword=washington specifies your password, which is washington in this example.
  • table=dfct specifies the page displayed when you log in, which is the Defects list window in this example. You can also go directly to the following list windows by specifying the corresponding code in the URL: Workbook (task), Customers (cust), Users (user), Security Groups (ugrp), Test Configs (scfg), Filters (dflt), and Reports (rprt).
Warning: Do not use this login method if security is an issue or you have strict security requirements. When this method is used, the username and password are passed from the browser to your web server in plain text. Using the default login page or operating on an SSL-secured web site is recommended to provide the highest level of security.
