"Version input not working."

Heres the source thats coming from my page, and everything LOOKS right, but its not putting the data from the select, into the input field. I'm stripping out some of the options as not to fill this post.

<tr>
<td width="98"><font face="Arial"><span class="reqfieldstyle">Version Found:</span></td>

<td><input type="text" NAME="field_12" value="">
</input><SELECT NAME=vselect SIZE=1 ONCHANGE="document.theForm.field_12.value = this.options.text;document.theForm.field_12.focus();this.selectedIndex=0"><option></option>
<option>2.0.2266.0 - upcoming</option>
<option>0.9.2013.9 (Beta 2)</option>
<option>0.9.2003.9 (Public Beta)</option>
</SELECT></td>
</tr>

Any idea on what is breaking this?

Heres the html code :

<tr>
<td width="98"><font face="Arial">Version Found:</td>
<td><input NAME="FNDV_CN%" value="" size="20" maxlength="32" type="text">%FNDV_V%
</input></td>
</tr>

These maybe typos but some of the syntax is off....

input NAME="FNDV_CN%"
should be... NAME="%FNDV_CN%" missing a %

SELECT NAME=vselect SIZE=1
should be NAME="vselect" missing quotes, unless this is not required for Javascript OnChange methods.

Also not sure, because Javascript is not really my thing, but do you know if for the selectedIndex to work if you need to give the option tags a value...

<option value="1">something</option>
<option value="2">something else</option>

Or does it treat all the <option> tags as part of an index already, <0> first option tag <1> second option tag and so forth.
