For example, set Severity to 4.  Have tried setting a trigger upon issue creation, but if we manually create a ticket in TestTrack software and set Severity 1, the trigger overrides Severity back to 4 when we save.

You can set the global default values for fields which should be used. But it sounds like you have a trigger that changes this for you. Feel free to email support@seapine.com with your specific setup and they can assist.

The trigger could be causing your issue so be sure to set a filter on the trigger condition to stop it from running when an item is created in a specific way.

Since the filters in TestTrack allow you to look at the creation method that could be an option.
