Seapine Software Adds Solaris Support to TestTrack Pro 4

MASON, Ohio, September 8, 2001—Seapine Software, Inc.™ continues its commitment to cross-platform solutions by delivering its TestTrack Pro™ 4 defect tracking application for the Sun Solaris OS. This release brings TestTrack Pro 4's server capabilities to developers running Solaris on either Sun Sparc or Intel server hardware. According to the International Data Corporation, Solaris—Sun's version of the Unix server operating system—held 39 percent of the Unix server market in 2000, as measured by revenue, making it the Unix market leader. With the Solaris version, developers working in a Solaris server environment can now access TestTrack Pro’s database from the Windows desktop or a Web browser. "TestTrack Pro for Sun Solaris reinforces our commitment to delivering the most complete defect management solution on all major operating systems," said Richard Riccetti, President of Seapine Software.TestTrack Pro 4 also supports Windows, the Web, and Linux server platforms, with client support for Windows and the Web. A Mac OS X server component is under development. TestTrack Pro 4's feature set includes integration with Microsoft Visual SourceSafe and advanced configurability."While Windows continues to be the most widely used desktop OS, Sun remains a key player in the back office," said Mr. Riccetti. "Solaris provides a new level of scalability for TestTrack Pro that is beyond the reach of all except the top-tier players in the defect management market."
